Mead Moon Blessing...

Tonight, on July 27th here in the UK, the full moon with rise. Always a time for celebration, but this evening is even more special as it is a Lunar eclipse and, for a while at least, the surface of the moon will take on a red, coppery hue.  I call the July full moon the Mead Moon. I have written this Blessing in Her honour... Mead Moon Blessing I call upon the insight of the Blessed Moon this night Grant me a glimpse of wisdom before my dreams take flight, A flash of inspiration and a chalice filled with Mead To arouse my intuition are all the tools I need. Litha is upon us and the wheel turns evermore A time for fun and magick and Midsummer tricks galore! As the Faeries play and pester And the Kings battle for the crown, It is time for Holly to take over   As Oak reluctantly steps down Goddess, still as Mother, offers harvest yet to come Whilst the Sun God slowly fades The days are waning, He’s had his fun Green is the colour, along with striking gold Be joyful in your celebrations It is time to be most bold! Feast and raise your cup, merry meet and deeply sup Sing, rejoice have fun, the halcyon days are come !
